Occupy Life

Occupy UC Davis Lt John Pike Pepper Spray 11-18-11

You outspoken people that are so against this occupy movement obviously feel threatened. You’re right though. Maybe you should feel threatened.

You should feel threatened that your right to peacefully assemble is under attack.

You should feel threatened that just because someone swore an oath to serve and protect, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll serve and protect you.

You should feel threatened that our president, who condemned Gaddafi for his attacks on peaceful protesters, has yet to condemn the police forces that have attacked our own peaceful protesters.

You should feel threatened when it’s ok to use pepper spray on peaceful protesters on the U.S. soil, yet it’s illegal to use pepper spray at war because it’s a chemical agent.

Open your eyes and see what’s really going on.

But don’t worry, my posts are pepper spray free.

No mention at all that the cops were trying to leave the area, and the “peaceful” protesters were blocking their way? The cops tried several times to ask people to move aside, so that they could leave. None of this would have happened if the protesters weren’t blocking the cops, surrounding them. Check out this video, do you still side with the protesters? I certainly don’t. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=hhPdH3wE0_Y

Actually I hadn’t seen that before you posted it so thank you. I only saw the edited version where the cop pepper sprayed the group.

I don’t agree with blocking the cops, but I wish I could see more angles/additional footage of the video. I still don’t understand why they were sitting with their backs turned to the cops or why they (the police) didn’t just walk around them like the pepper spraying officer did. I also didn’t see any video of the officers trying to move the seated students or pull them apart (maybe it did happen but I don’t recall seeing that).

There’s definitely more to the story so I wish the people there would post all of the videos that they took.
